Breaking the mould and designing your own family: the story behind RealCoFamily

"The life I dreamed of never arrived… and it was the best thing that could have happened to me."

This is the story that led me to create RealCoFamily. The day I understood there is no single way to build a family, I found my purpose.

The Disney myth vs. the real rollercoaster

When years go by after an intense life —the kind where you don't understand why things didn't turn out the way you were promised— you have two options: play the victim or keep going.

We grew up with patterns handed to us by Disney films. After the first great love of adolescence and the relationships that followed (some beautiful, many failed), it is easy to feel like you are walking through a "lost world". On my own rollercoaster, thanks to the Universe, to God, or to whatever energy you believe in, wonderful people showed up and made the road easier.

Watching everyone else move toward traditional stability —married at 28, two kids— while you felt out of place created a sharp contradiction. But here is the thing: the world has changed completely.

But life had other plans for me.

From young expat in Ireland to founding RealCoFamily

This instinct to break the mould did not appear overnight. I moved to Ireland when I was very young and spent four incredible years there. Picture it: leaving your comfort zone, landing somewhere new, and starting to connect with people from all over the world. That experience changed my life.

I discovered that connecting with people from other countries opens your mind, fills you with culture, shakes your prejudices, and teaches you things no school can. I learned that real friends become your chosen family when you are far from home.

Today, many young people look for that same authenticity in apps and social networks: the urge to connect, to meet people from elsewhere, to share projects and be on the same wavelength without being judged. That is exactly what we built into RealCoFamily.

My experiences —including the pain that made me stronger— made me the woman I am today. Building this community is where I finally feel I belong.

Today I look back and I am grateful for every experience, every disappointment, every lesson, and every wonderful person who crossed my path. All of it brought me here.

RealCoFamily was not born from theory

It was born from real experience. From the doubts, the dreams, the wounds, the hopes, and the will to build something authentic.

It is for people who want to start a family. For people looking for a partner with values. For people who want to share a life project. For people who feel they don't fit traditional models. And for people who simply want to connect with honest people looking for something real.

RealCoFamily is a community for people who want to live without preset patterns, regardless of what others might say (something that, I'll admit, took me a while to get over myself).

Whether you want to take on the world and build international connections, or you are in a stage of looking for something more settled, there is a place for you here. No labels, and no forcing yourself into anyone else's mould.

The RealCoFamily filter: honesty and transparency are not negotiable

For a conscious, international community to work, safety and truth are the foundation.

Not long ago I had a video call with someone looking for guidance on having a child. So far, so good. But when we connected on social media, their profile was completely empty: no photos, no posts, a ghost identity.

When I gently asked how we were supposed to help if they would not show themselves, the answer was cold: "What does it matter? I just want a child." In a world full of fake profiles, spam, and empty accounts, my answer was clear and honest. When they kept pushing, I had to block them.

We don't want that at RealCoFamily. We are not a fast-consumption app or a place for hidden profiles. We want transparency. We want you to show up as you are. If you ask for our help or guidance, you get absolute confidentiality — but the one entry requirement is honesty.

At RealCoFamily we are not looking for perfect profiles. We are looking for real people:

  • People with stories.
  • People with hopes.
  • People with fears.
  • People who want to build something good.

We want a space where every story is respected, where people feel heard, and where connections start from authenticity. Confidentiality, respect, and honesty are the pillars of this community. Because behind every profile there is a person, and behind every person there is a story worth hearing.

Where do you see yourself?

Before we keep building this together, I would love to know where you are today.

  • A) Shared parenting or conscious co-parenting: building a stable family and having a child in an environment of respect, with or without a traditional partner.
  • B) A travel and growth companion: finding that person to share life and travel with, and to grow alongside.
  • C) Conscious connections: making friends, connecting with young international people, and building mutual support with no labels or judgement.
  • D) Living internationally: sharing life projects, moves abroad, values, and a global mindset.
  • E) Still defining it: you are figuring it out, but you want an environment of honest, transparent people with good intentions.

Your global tribe is waiting

If you are tired of the cold algorithms of the usual dating apps, tired of empty feeds, and you want real connections, international friends, conscious co-parenting, or simply a space where your freedom is respected: welcome home.

We are not here to hook up. We are here to connect around a life project. If you are looking for authenticity, this is your tribe.

Maybe you don't know exactly what you are looking for yet. That is fine. What matters is having the courage to take the first step.

Because sometimes, when we feel we are reaching the end of one road, we are actually reaching the beginning of a new chapter.

Let's build a community where connections have purpose, relationships have intention, and everyone is free to be who they really are.
